Choosing the wording for your stationery

Deciding upon the wording for the inserts for your wedding stationery can be a very confusing process. Follow our guidelines to chose the appropriate wording for your circumstances.

Step 1: decide whether you would prefer a traditional, formal wording style or a more informal style. Click here for examples of traditional & informal wording.

Step 2: The wording in a traditional style wedding invitation depends upon who is hosting the wedding and their relationship to the bride however today, hosts can be the groom’s parents, the bride & groom themselves or other relatives.

Note: You can replace the phrase 'honour of your presence' (tends to be used for religious ceremonies) by 'pleasure of your company'.
